Domaine Collotte is a family estate in Marsannay-la-Côte, the northernmost village of the Côte de Nuits, where the Collotte family has tended vines for four generations. Philippe Collotte released the first domaine-bottled wine in 1981, and his daughter Isabelle now leads the estate, with most of its vineyards spread across Marsannay.
Marsannay is one of the few Côte de Nuits villages with its own appellation for white wine, and this Chardonnay is fermented and aged partly in French oak barrels. The result is a more textured white than the domaine's Bourgogne Blanc, with layers of peach, citrus and orchard fruit, a chalky mineral streak and a subtle creamy, nutty edge on the finish.
Try it with roast chicken, pork in a creamy sauce, scallops or a cheese board featuring Comté.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
