From Domaine Chanson, a historic Burgundy estate based in the medieval Bastion of Beaune, founded in 1750 and one of the oldest houses in the region. The estate cultivates around 43 hectares of Premier and Grand Cru sites across the Côte de Beaune.
A Premier Cru Beaune from Les Teurons, one of the most respected climats on the slope above the town of Beaune. 100% Pinot Noir, grown on the calcareous mid-slope of this east-facing site. Expect a wine with pure, precise fruit, balanced subtle oak and a beautifully ripe, charnu mid-palate, the structure firm enough to reward a few years' bottle age or careful decanting in its youth.
Vinified in the Chanson 'infusion rather than construction' style, with whole-cluster fermentation to enhance colour, structure and aromatic complexity. Hand-harvested grapes are quickly chilled on arrival in a proprietary tunnel before fermentation, with élevage in oak barrels in the Bastion's historic cellars.
