Didier Dagueneau was the iconoclast who redefined the wines of the upper Loire, and the domaine he founded at Pouilly-sur-Loire remains the benchmark for Sauvignon Blanc of the very highest order. The estate farms organically and biodynamically, working tiny parcels with obsessive attention to detail.
Buisson Renard comes from a single, distinctive site and is a powerful, mineral-driven expression of Sauvignon Blanc. Richly aromatic, it shows lime, elderflower, ginger and honeysuckle, with a smoky, flinty edge. The palate is concentrated and taut, juicy yet almost austere, with intense minerality and a long, vibrant, gently bitter finish.
A profound white built to age, it is superb with shellfish, grilled fish, goat's cheese and richer poultry dishes.
