Cobaw Ridge is the family estate of Alan and Nelly Cooper, established in the Macedon Ranges in 1985. The vineyard sits at altitude near Kyneton in one of the coolest wine-growing spots in the country, and has been farmed under certified organic and biodynamic practices for many years, with all wines grown, made and bottled on the property.
The Original Block Pinot Noir is drawn from the estate's first Pinot Noir plantings, established in 1995 with clones 114, 115 and MV6. Mature vines bring depth and complexity, and the wine shows sour and dark cherry fruit with warm spice, herbal and forest floor notes, lacy, grainy tannins and a savoury finish that opens up with air.
A thoughtful match for roast pork, mushroom risotto or herb-crusted lamb. Decant briefly to let the savoury layers unfold.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
