Christophe Patrice is a small family grower in Chablis, crafting precise, unoaked expressions of Chardonnay from Kimmeridgian limestone and clay soils. The approach in the cellar is simple and respectful of the site, letting each vineyard speak with clarity.
Beauregard is a left bank Premier Cru that, together with its neighbouring climat Côte de Cuissy, covers around 20 hectares. Its southern aspect is tempered by a position low in the valley, keeping conditions cool, while shallow clay soils over limestone marl add tension. Fruit from vines aged between 40 and 70 years is whole-bunch pressed, fermented cool in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, and rested on fine lees for around four months before bottling.
Expect lemon curd, white peach and hazelnut with chalk and flint aromas, followed by a dense yet balanced palate and a long, citrus and chalk finish. Serve at 10 to 12°C with crustaceans or soft cheeses, or cellar for five to ten years.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
