Block 8 is a single-vineyard Pinot Noir from Bindi, one of the most admired estates in the cool, high country of the Macedon Ranges. The parcel sits on a north-west facing slope of quartz-rich soils with pockets of volcanic earth, planted at high density to a spread of Pinot Noir clones that deliver fruit of real concentration and detail.
Matured in French oak, a portion of it new, this is a deep and beautifully composed wine. Expect a layered bouquet of dark cherry, wild raspberry and plum, lifted by earthy spice, forest floor and fine mineral notes. The palate is intense yet elegant, carried by finely woven tannins and a bright line of acidity that keeps everything in focus.
Made in tiny quantities, Block 8 rewards patience and cellaring, showing the poise and longevity that define Bindi's finest single-site Pinot Noir.
