Bindi is one of Australia's most admired producers of Pinot Noir, working a small estate high in the cool Macedon Ranges of Victoria. Block 5 is a single-block wine drawn from one of the estate's most prized parcels, made in the meticulous, low-intervention style that has earned Bindi its reputation.
The elevated, cool-climate site gives fruit of real precision and drive. Expect a fragrant nose of red and black cherry, raspberry and spice, lifted by floral and gently earthy notes and underpinned by intense minerality.
The palate is concentrated yet balanced, with vibrant fruit, bright acidity and fine, gripping tannins that give the wine both power and length. Built to age, it shares much with a fine Burgundy and will continue to develop with time in the cellar.
