A single-block Pinot Noir from Yarra Yering, sourced from the Waterloo Block that was replanted in 2016 to MV6 - the most widely planted Pinot Noir clone in the Yarra Valley. The block's east-west row orientation was chosen to improve canopy management and drainage on the estate's site at the foot of the Warramate Hills.
Expect a perfumed, medium-bodied Pinot Noir with lifted violet and rose petal aromatics, red cherry, pomegranate and subtle spice. The palate is silky and fleshy with fine, restrained tannins and a gentle smoky-char lift, giving an elegant, immediately appealing wine.
Hand-picked and chilled overnight, the fruit is sorted, gently destemmed and fermented in small open fermenters with twice-daily hand plunging. Matured in French oak (around 20% new) for 10 months in the estate's cool underground cellar.
