Weingut Wagner-Stempel is a leading Rheinhessen estate in the small village of Siefersheim, farmed by nine generations of the Wagner family. Run today by Daniel Wagner, the estate works around 20 hectares certified organic since 2008, with plantings split roughly 50% Riesling, 25% Pinot varieties and 15% Silvaner, driven by a precise, mineral, authentic style.
The Wagner-Stempel Riesling Trocken 2023 is the estate's entry-level VDP.Gutswein dry Riesling, a baseline that consistently over-delivers for its level. The vineyards sit in a landscape of steep, volcanic porphyry hills with heathland and old quarries, on the western edge of Rheinhessen close to the Nahe border.
Wines at the estate are mostly fermented spontaneously with wild yeasts and given extended lees contact, resulting in vibrant, filigree whites shaped by the volcanic soils' animating salinity and freshness. The Riesling Trocken offers fine balance between ripe fruit and bright acidity — classic Wagner-Stempel precision at an approachable level.
