Tommy's Booze began in 2021 in the kitchen of Freddy's Pizza in Windsor, Melbourne, when Tom Giurioli and Dan Leuzzi started making limoncello from a Giurioli family recipe and a bag of lemons. The brand has since built a range of Italian style liqueurs around Australian fruit, much of it sourced from Victorian and Queensland growers as cosmetically imperfect stock that would otherwise go to waste.
Kiwi is a limited edition and the fourth flavour in the line-up, joining Limoncello, Mandarino and Lampone. It is made from four things and nothing else: kiwi fruit, pure alcohol, water and sugar. The fruit is peeled by hand before going to a local Melbourne distillery for infusion.
The result is bright, green and unmistakably fresh kiwi, tart enough to avoid the candied character these liqueurs often fall into. Serve it cold and straight, over ice, or stirred through a spritz.
