Tilquin Oude Quetsche 8.4% 12 Pack Bottles 375ml

Oude Quetsche Tilquin à l'Ancienne is a traditional plum lambic from Gueuzerie Tilquin, the Wallonian blendery established by Pierre Tilquin in Bierghes in 2009. Tilquin sources freshly brewed lambic from brewers such as Boon, Lindemans, Girardin and Cantillon, then matures and blends it spontaneously in its own oak barrels.

For this bottling, destoned purple quetsche plums are macerated in a blend of one, two and three-year-old lambics for several months, after which the beer is refermented in the bottle for a further period. It is left unfiltered and unpasteurised.

The result carries a stone-fruit and plum-brandy perfume on the nose. The palate is fruity and rounded with a gentle tartness, a light tannic dryness drawn from the plum skins, and earthy, lightly funky notes that keep it complex yet approachable.
