While the nose remains a little shy, this offers classic sherry led aromas and flavors of dried fruits, orange zest, ginger and forgivable hints of sulfur. It's superbly juicy, mouthfilling and succulent with genuine polish and poise. The Glenrothes like to take distilling slowly, creating a lighter, fruitier whisky. They’ve been doing so since 1878. They’re also one of the last distilleries in Scotland to maintain their own in-house cooperage (they take wood very seriously). Their whisky goes from cask (Spanish sherry) to glass with their natural color intact, so you get a taste of the whisky making process with every dram.
