Tamdhu 18 Year Old is a richly sherried Speyside single malt and one of the distillery's most coveted limited releases. Tamdhu built its reputation on a single, uncompromising idea: maturing every drop in the finest Oloroso sherry oak. This 18 year old is the elegant expression of that philosophy, drawn from a marriage of European and American oak casks seasoned in Jerez, Spain.
The result is a whisky of remarkable depth and polish. The nose offers dry, nutty sherry alongside cherry, milk chocolate, rum-soaked raisin, gentle citrus and ripe plum. On the palate it is full and complex, layering vanilla and brown sugar over dried fruits and a warm, oaky backbone that carries through a long, satisfying finish.
Bottled at natural colour and without chill filtration, this is a malt for those who appreciate the classic, sherry-driven Speyside style at its most refined. Savour it neat or with a few drops of water to open up its many layers.
