Royal Brackla 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt from one of Scotland's most historic distilleries, founded in 1812 on the Cawdor Estate. In 1833 it became the first Scotch whisky to be granted a Royal Warrant, earning the distinction known as "The King's Own Whisky" and the royal prefix it still carries today.
This 18 year old expression is matured in ex-bourbon casks before being finished in rare Palo Cortado sherry casks, a sherry style that sits between Amontillado and Oloroso. The result is a rich, fruity single malt with a golden hue that reflects its considerable sherry character.
The nose offers an inviting bouquet of warm spices and creamy vanilla giving way to soft, succulent fruits. On the palate it is rich and layered, with notes of cocoa powder and gentle spice lifted by a bright zing of citrus. A refined sipping whisky best enjoyed neat or with a drop of water.
