Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey was founded in 2001 by Pierre-Yves Colin (son of Marc Colin) and Caroline Morey. From the family cellars in Chassagne-Montrachet the estate works around 13 hectares across Saint-Aubin, Chassagne, Puligny-Montrachet, Meursault and Santenay, all to a single, exacting house style.
Hommage à Marguerite is a tribute cuvée named after Pierre-Yves's grandmother. It is a blend of three Saint-Aubin Premier Crus, drawing on parcels of Les Perrières, Les Combes and Les Créots from vines averaging more than thirty years old. Saint-Aubin sits behind Chassagne and Puligny on cooler, higher slopes, giving Chardonnays of bright acidity and chiselled minerality.
The 2023 is fleshy and charming, with pear, sweet citrus and gentle buttered-toast aromatics opening into a satin-textured, medium to full-bodied palate that finishes long and saline. Whole-cluster pressing, native-yeast fermentation in 350-litre barrels and patient lees ageing without bâtonnage give the wine its house-trademark seamless integration.
