Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is one of the most highly regarded white wine names in modern Burgundy, founded in 2001 by Pierre-Yves Colin (son of Marc Colin) and Caroline Morey. From the family cellars in Chassagne-Montrachet the estate works around 13 hectares across the Côte de Beaune in a single, exacting house style.
Les Charmes is the largest of the Meursault Premier Crus, a long, gently sloping bench on the lower part of the village hierarchy. Its warm, sheltered, clay-rich soils give Meursault its most generous, classically buttery expression, with notes of almond and hazelnut alongside ripe orchard fruit. Pierre-Yves's bottling brings the cut and tension of his house style to that traditional richness.
The 2023 is plush and finely textured without losing line, with ripe pear, white peach and toasted hazelnut over a long, mineral close. Whole-cluster pressing at high pressure, native-yeast fermentation in 350-litre barrels and patient lees ageing without bâtonnage give the wine real depth and seamless integration.
