Domaine Pernot Père & Fils is a small family estate established in 1900 in Brochon, adjoining Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits. Since taking over in 2018, fourth-generation winemaker Pascal Pernot has focused on sustainable farming of the family's seven hectares, natural yeast fermentations and careful barrel ageing.
Les Jeunes Rois is one of the domaine's two single-vineyard Gevrey-Chambertin bottlings. The fruit is fully destemmed, and the wine shows a deep, dark purple colour with a powerful nose of plum and dark raspberry. The palate is rich and juicy, finishing on black cherry with real density and length, and it will benefit from several years of cellaring.
Serve with roast duck, beef fillet, game pie or hard aged cheeses.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
