Domaine Pernot Père & Fils was established in 1900 in Brochon, the village just north of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits. Pascal Pernot, the fourth generation of the family, took over in 2018 after training with Manuel Olivier, and now farms around seven hectares of mostly old vines with a sustainable approach that is gradually moving towards biodynamics.
This Bourgogne Pinot Noir is made in the same careful way as the domaine's village wines. The fruit is largely destemmed and fermented with natural yeasts before ageing in French oak barrels. Expect a bright, red-fruited Pinot with notes of cherry and raspberry, a gentle earthy edge and fresh, supple tannins that make it an easy and rewarding everyday Burgundy.
Enjoy with roast chicken, charcuterie, duck rillettes or a mushroom pasta.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
