Monteraponi is a small, family-run estate in Radda in Chianti, one of the coolest and most elegant subzones of the Chianti Classico territory. The farm is organically managed and the vineyards are planted on galestro-rich soils at altitude, where Michele Braganti has built a strong following with old-vine Sangiovese that emphasises perfume, freshness and finesse over weight.
The 2024 is classic Radda in miniature: fragrant, lifted and quietly serious. Aromas of raspberry, wild cherry and pomegranate are layered with violet, dried herbs and a savoury mineral undertone. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, with sleek tannins, bright acidity and a long, gently floral finish that speaks clearly of place.
An ideal partner for tagliatelle al ragù, herb-roasted chicken, mushroom-topped pizza or a board of pecorino and salumi.
