A wine from Manuel Cantalapiedra's personal project, a small-scale solo venture launched alongside his work at the family domaine, Cantalapiedra Viticultores in La Seca, Rueda. Manuel is a third-generation grower (and a trained classical pianist) known for taking an even more low-intervention approach with this project than the family wines, working only with his own vineyards.
Obertura is a Verdejo from old vines in La Seca, named with a nod to Manuel's musical past. The wine sees a year in oak followed by six months in stainless steel, giving a serious, textural Verdejo with citrus, ripe pear, dried herbs and chamomile over a structured, mineral-edged palate.
Organic and biodynamic farming, hand harvesting, gentle pressing, native yeast fermentation and minimal additions in the cellar. Bottled with very low sulfur and without filtration.
