La Dama is a family-run winery in Negrar, in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica zone between Verona and Lake Garda. Founded by Gabriele and Miriam, the estate farms around 10 hectares of organically certified vineyards in Negrar and on the sunny hills of Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, using both traditional pergola and espalier training, with a focus on elegant, refined wines that reflect their territory.
This Valpolicella Classico is the fresh, youthful expression of the region, made from the local varieties led by Corvina alongside Rondinella and other native grapes. Without the drying of grapes used for Amarone or Ripasso, it showcases the bright, perfumed side of Valpolicella.
Expect lively red cherry and red berry fruit with floral and gently spicy notes. Light to medium bodied with soft tannins and refreshing acidity, it is an easy-drinking red that is best enjoyed young and can even take a light chill in warmer weather.
A versatile match for antipasti, salumi, pizza, pasta or grilled chicken.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
