Battles Blendaberg 2024 750ml
Blendaberg is a white field-style blend from Battles, the Margaret River-based venture founded by ex-Houghton winemaker Lance Parkin and former Rockpool sommelier Kris Ambrozkiewicz. Named with a typically irreverent Battles wink, the 2024 brings together Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Grigio, all sourced from the highly regarded Swinney Vineyard in Frankland River in the cool Great Southern.
Aromatic and lifted, it shows pronounced notes of kaffir lime, lemongrass and orange blossom, opening onto a bright, textural palate of grapefruit, mandarin and ginger spice. Alcohol sits at a gentle 12.7%, keeping the wine fresh and lively — an easy match for Thai-style dishes, spiced Asian fare, or simply a sunny-afternoon glass.
Battles has quickly established itself as one of Western Australia's most exciting young producers. Blendaberg is a great entry point to the range.
