Bright mid-ruby. Sweet and pretty notes of raspberry, cherry and vanilla with sweet spices adorn the nose. Captivating and aromatic but certainly in a lighter and more perfumed vein for the variety. The palate enters with piercing purity of fruit wrapped in vanilla extract and floral notes of rosehip, hibiscus and violet. With plenty of air and coaxing, layers of subtle spice emerge: cinnamon, sweet paprika, pink peppercorns and cumin adding complexity to the precise and mouth-watering red fruit flavours as they mellow to black cherry and earthiness on the finish. No more than medium-bodied, the pressing acidity and very fine, chalky tannins all add to the supremely elegant style. This will develop slowly in bottle, gaining more layers with time.
