The Kavalan Peatist Oloroso Sherry Cask is a bold single malt from Taiwan's pioneering Kavalan distillery, where the warm, humid subtropical climate drives an unusually fast and intense maturation. This release marries peated spirit with the deep influence of Oloroso sherry wood, a combination that sets it apart from the distillery's fruit-forward core range.
On the nose, gentle wood smoke winds through tropical fruit, with pineapple and mango meeting buttery toffee and roasted plum. The palate is rich and layered, offering dried fruit, dark dates and citrus, all wrapped in a warming thread of earthy peat. It closes long and viscous, with notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee and toasted nuts.
