Jim Barry is one of the foundational families of the Clare Valley, with vineyard plantings dating back to the early 1960s. The Lodge Hill vineyard sits on the eastern ridge above the town of Clare at one of the highest points in the region, where altitude, cool nights and stony soils combine to give Riesling its trademark Clare drive.
This Museum Release is the 2016 vintage held back at the winery and aged for close to a decade before release. With time, the bright lemon and lime fruit of youthful Lodge Hill softens into honeyed citrus, kerosene complexity and toasty wet-stone notes that are the hallmark of mature Clare Riesling.
The wine remains taut and dry under screw cap, with the precise, citrus-driven acidity that built its reputation, now layered with the savoury, mineral depth that only comes from years in bottle. A snapshot of one of Australia's most consistent estate Rieslings at full maturity.
