J.J. Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese 2024 750ml
J.J. Prüm is one of the most celebrated names in Germany's Mosel valley, a family estate whose Rieslings are prized the world over for their purity and longevity. This Auslese comes from the steep Graacher Himmelreich vineyard, where the vines grow on the blue Devonian slate that gives Mosel Riesling its signature drive and minerality.
Auslese is made from selectively hand-picked bunches of very ripe grapes, often touched by noble rot, giving a wine of concentrated sweetness balanced by racy acidity. Expect aromas of ripe peach, apricot and honey lifted by white flowers and a whiff of wet stone, leading to a palate that is at once luscious and weightless, its sweetness carried on a vibrant, mineral line to a long finish.
Like all great Mosel Riesling, it is beautiful now but built to age gracefully for decades, gaining complexity over time. Serve well chilled as an aperitif, alongside spicy Asian dishes, or with fruit-based desserts.
