Gouden Carolus Whisky Infused comes from Brouwerij Het Anker in Mechelen, one of Belgium's oldest breweries. It takes the brewery's Gouden Carolus Imperial Dark and enriches it with an infusion of Gouden Carolus Single Malt whisky, distilled by the same family at their Molenberg distillery from the wort of the Gouden Carolus Tripel.
The beer is top-fermented, brewed using only Belgian hops and lagered for three weeks. It pours a dark ruby red and offers aromas of vanilla, oak, gentle smoke and caramel. The palate is powerful and full-bodied, with notes of vanilla, oak and chocolate woven through its rich malt character, finishing long and warming.
Serve at 10 to 12°C in a snifter or tulip glass and take your time with it. It pairs especially well with desserts featuring chocolate and vanilla.
