A single-vineyard Dolcetto d'Alba from the historic Giuseppe Mascarello estate, one of Piedmont's most revered traditional producers. The family's roots trace to 1881, and the estate is today run by Mauro Mascarello alongside his children Elena and Giuseppe, working in the same traditional style of long macerations and large Slavonian oak casks.
Fruit comes from the Santo Stefano hill in Perno, in the commune of Monforte d'Alba - the Mascarellos' holdings here have also delivered their renowned Barbera and Barolo from the same site. Expect a deep ruby hue, with winey, fragrant aromas, ripe red and black fruit, florals and a dry, medium-bodied, varietal palate with the gentle bitter-almond finish typical of Dolcetto.
Traditional floating-cap fermentation at controlled temperature, then stabilisation in inert tank - no oak - to keep the wine bright, fruit-driven and ready to drink. Bottled around one year after harvest.
