Génot-Boulanger is a family-run Meursault domaine working across a remarkable patchwork of premier and grand cru sites in both the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise. Corton-Charlemagne is one of the great white grand crus of Burgundy, the sweeping limestone hillside in the Côte de Beaune historically tied to the Emperor Charlemagne, where the soils and south-westerly aspect drive Chardonnay of remarkable concentration and longevity.
The 2022 is a serious, structured grand cru. Ripe conference pear, yellow plum, orange pith and mandarin lead, layered with delicate flinty minerality and just a hint of toasted nut from a careful élevage. The palate is precise and streamlined, with concentrated white fruit, a keel of saline grip and a long, focused finish that will reward years in the cellar.
One for the cellar and for very special meals: white truffle, butter-poached lobster, roast capon or aged Comté.
