The Whole Bunch Syrah, a highlight of the Projects Range, epitomizes a dedication to crafting unique, small-batch wines that are both intriguing and delectable. Botrivier’s Mediterranean climate, marked by extended growing seasons with moderate to warm temperatures, significantly influences this wine. The 2023 vintage, distinguished by low yields and early ripening, boasts wines with remarkable concentration and freshness. Despite late-season rain delaying some ripening, it enhanced flavor development and elegance. Meticulous hand-picking, light crushing, and whole bunch fermentation over ten days were followed by a ten-month aging process in steel tanks (75%) and older barrels (25%). The aromatic profile is intricate, featuring purple flowers, sour figs, dark chocolate, and wet earth. The palate offers notes of blueberry, black cherry, black olives, cloves, salted liquorice, and cured meats, underpinned by powdery tannins, fresh acidity, and dense fruit, resulting in a serious yet approachable vintage.
