Gabriëlskloof Amphora Sauvignon Blanc 2023 750ml

Whole bunch pressed and 100% wild fermented in meticulously crafted local clay amphorae. Aged for seven months on gross lees without any additives, with minimal SO2 introduced just prior to bottling. These amphorae, ranging from 500L to 860L and developed over a decade of experimentation, are unlined and porous, allowing ideal micro-oxidation during maturation. This vintage combines edginess with broad yellow fruit characteristics, underscored by a leesy, slightly reductive complexity. The nose features pronounced blackcurrant leaf, lime, and green banana notes. On the palate, creamy and mouth-coating textures are brilliantly balanced by the grape’s vibrant acidity. Distinctly Sauvignon, yet far from typical.
