First Creek Wines is a family-owned Hunter Valley producer, established in Pokolbin in 1998 by Greg and Jenny Silkman, with winemaker Liz Silkman now at the helm. The Botanica range is the winery's approachable, everyday collection, built on fruit selected for its clean character and made with a hands-off approach that avoids unnecessary additions or heavy manipulation.
The Botanica Shiraz pours a bright, deep red-purple. Fresh, spicy aromas of raspberry, red cherry and mulberry are joined by cracked pepper and a touch of cedary oak. The palate is clean, ripe and juicy, sitting in a medium-bodied frame that makes it easy to enjoy now.
Serve it slightly cool, around 12 to 14 degrees, with grilled lamb chops, a hearty moussaka or a family-sized lasagne.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
