Troppo is the affordable, minimal-intervention label from Adelaide Hills winery Unico Zelo, founded by Brendan and Laura Carter. The name means 'too much' in Italian and the range is their answer to the agricultural excess of the wine industry, taking unsecured fruit and turning it into approachable wines using the same low-intervention winemaking approach as the core Unico Zelo range.
The Troppo Syrah is sourced from the Adelaide Hills, a cool-climate region that has become one of Australia's most exciting for the variety. It is a tailored-back expression at 13% alcohol, decidedly fruit-forward and leaning into the spicy aromatics that are a hallmark of the region.
