Domaine Édouard Confuron is a young estate in the Côte de Nuits, founded in 2021 by a winemaker whose family roots in the region stretch back generations. Having grown up at the family domaine in Vosne-Romanée, Édouard now crafts a small range of wines from his own modest holdings, farmed with a careful, low-intervention approach.
This wine comes from Aux Allots, a vineyard in the northern part of Nuits-Saint-Georges, close to the border with Vosne-Romanée. Its pebbly limestone and clay soils give a Pinot Noir that marries the structure of Nuits with a touch of Vosne finesse.
Expect aromas of black cherry and plum lifted by hints of forest floor and spice. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, well-judged tannins and balanced acidity, its ripe red and dark fruits carrying through to a savoury, subtly mineral finish.
