This white Burgundy comes from Domaine Leflaive, the legendary Puligny-Montrachet estate, and is drawn from Les Chênes, a single lieu-dit in the heart of the Verzé valley in the Mâconnais. It offers a taste of the estate's celebrated precision at a more approachable level of the range.
Made from Chardonnay farmed biodynamically, the wine is elegant and finely drawn, showing white peach, Meyer lemon and crisp orchard fruit lifted by floral notes. Fermented and aged across a mix of vessels and rested on fine lees, it has more texture and amplitude than a standard village Mâcon while keeping a racy, mineral drive.
Balanced, focused and long, this is a beautifully composed Mâcon-Verzé with the harmony and backbone to reward a few years in the cellar.
