Domaine Leflaive is a benchmark Burgundy estate known for its biodynamic farming and its reputation for some of the finest white wines in the world. This Mâcon-Verzé Le Monté comes from a single parcel above the hamlet of Escolles, on the plateau overlooking the Verzé valley.
The Le Monté vineyard is a gently sloping, south-west facing site with clay and limestone soils and a high proportion of flint. Farmed biodynamically and picked by hand, the fruit is fermented and aged under the care of the Leflaive team.
Made from Chardonnay, the wine is pure and expressive, both floral and mineral, with citrus and orchard fruit carried by a vibrant thread of acidity. There is real energy here, along with the finesse of a top Mâconnais site.
