Domaine Henri Germain et Fils is one of the most admired addresses in Meursault, a small family estate founded in 1973 and now in the hands of Jean-Francois Germain. The Bourgogne Cote d'Or Blanc is sourced entirely from vines within Meursault itself, a step up from a typical regional Bourgogne and a wine that carries much of the character of the village at its heart.
Made from Chardonnay, this is a wine of charm and gentle generosity. Expect aromas of honeysuckle, pear and freshly baked bread, leading to a medium to full-bodied palate that is satiny and fleshy yet lifted by a chalky structure and a faintly saline finish. The hand of the winemaker is light, with restrained use of oak allowing the fruit and terroir to lead.
An ideal partner for roast poultry, seafood, soft cheeses or simply enjoyed on its own as an aperitif. Serve lightly chilled to let its texture and aromatics show at their best.
