Domaine Rougeot is a family estate in Meursault with five generations of winemaking behind it, run today by Marc Rougeot and his sons Pierre-Henri and Alexandre. Their approach is hands-off in the cellar, with native yeasts, long ageing in traditional Burgundy barrels and no fining or filtration.
La Combe Bazin is a parcel of very old vines in Saint-Romain, the cool, elevated village tucked into the hills behind Meursault. Chardonnay from here is known for its freshness and mineral tension, and this bottling pairs bright acidity with generous fruit. With extra time in bottle, it has developed added complexity, with savoury and nutty notes complementing the citrus and orchard fruit.
Enjoy with roast chicken, pan-fried fish in brown butter, or a cheese board featuring Comté.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
