La Monatine is a lieu-dit at the bottom of Meursault village, adjacent to Sous la Velle, where Domaine Rougeot's 0.85-hectare plot of 30- to 50-year-old vines grows on clay-limestone soils. This is the entry-level white from Pierre-Henri Rougeot's eighth-generation family domaine — Demeter-certified biodynamic from the 2023 vintage.
Whole-bunch pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts, the wine is aged in neutral barrels without bâtonnage, fining or filtration. An approachable, supple Chardonnay with a Meursault accent — soft citrus and stone fruit with the gentle weight and texture that the village's terroir imparts even at regional appellation level.
