A Flagship Chardonnay from Domaine Naturaliste, the Margaret River estate led by winemaker Bruce Dukes. 'Purus' is a translation of pristine flavour, texture and the cooler southern Margaret River climate into wine, drawn from Dijon clones grown in the cool southern end of the region.
The vines are carefully managed to allow only dappled light into the fruiting zone, promoting flavour development, low tannins and bright natural acidity. Expect a pristine, precise Chardonnay with lime, white stonefruit, orange blossom, oyster-shell and gentle spice, driven by fine, racy acidity, a very fine layering of texture and oak, and remarkable length.
Hand-harvested at first light from compact bunches of solarised berries to preserve fruit freshness. Fermented and matured in French oak, with careful, minimal-intervention handling. Around 13–14% ABV.
