Domaine Guffens-Heynen is a cult name in the Mâconnais, established by Jean-Marie Guffens, who has spent decades proving that the region can produce Chardonnay of serious quality. This Bourgogne Blanc is made from the estate's youngest vines together with the final pressings of its older parcels, and is vinified and matured in concrete.
The result is a white of remarkable energy and precision for its level. Look for zesty citrus, stone fruit and white flowers, underpinned by crushed-stone minerality and a savoury, almond-tinged complexity. The palate is polished and textural, generous in fruit yet driven by a chalky, mineral freshness.
A versatile and rewarding white Burgundy, it pairs well with seafood, poultry, soft cheeses and creamy pasta dishes.
