Domaine Ghislaine Barthod is one of the most admired names in Chambolle-Musigny, a village in the Côte de Nuits famed for its graceful, perfumed reds. Ghislaine has run the estate since the late 1990s, working exclusively within Chambolle and known for wines of impressive balance and ageworthiness. This village Chambolle-Musigny is assembled from a handful of small parcels scattered across the appellation.
Made from Pinot Noir using traditional methods, it shows the hallmark Chambolle character: bright red fruit, a delicate floral lift and a silky, refined texture. There is real concentration of fruit here, carried with energy and impeccable balance over fine, supple tannins.
Serve at cool cellar temperature, decanting briefly if young, alongside roast poultry, duck, lamb, mushroom dishes or soft cheeses. It drinks beautifully now and will also reward time in the cellar.
