From Domaine de la Vougeraie, the Boisset family's prestigious estate based in Premeaux-Prissey between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. Founded in 1999 to bring together the finest Burgundian vineyard holdings the Boisset group had acquired since 1964, the domaine today farms around 44 hectares spread across more than 30 appellations and is certified organic, with biodynamic principles applied throughout the vineyards.
A Premier Cru from the small Vougeot appellation, Les Cras lies on calcareous soils on the gentle slopes of the village. 100% Pinot Noir, vinified in the precise, parcel-specific style for which the domaine is known. Expect a refined and tightly wound wine with mineral-driven flavours, balanced fruit and the structure to age beautifully over the medium term.
Whole-bunch fermentation by gravity, aged in French oak barrels with a measured proportion of new wood, then briefly in stainless steel before bottling under organic certification.
