From Domaine de la Vougeraie, the Boisset family's prestigious estate based in Premeaux-Prissey between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. Founded in 1999 to bring together the finest Burgundian vineyard holdings the Boisset group had acquired since 1964, the domaine today farms around 44 hectares spread across more than 30 appellations and is certified organic, with biodynamic principles applied throughout the vineyards.
100% Chardonnay drawn from three small east-facing parcels just above the village of Puligny, neighbouring some of the appellation's most celebrated Premier and Grand Crus. Expect a clear, golden hue and an aromatic profile of citrus, white flowers and stone fruit, leading into a palate that is opulent yet remarkably fresh, with white fruit and floral notes underpinned by a subtle mineral edge.
Whole-bunch pressed for around two and a half hours, followed by a 12-hour cold settling without yeast or enzyme additions. Aged for 16 months in oak barrels, of which roughly a quarter were new, then a further two months in stainless steel before bottling.
