Domaine Daniel Bouland is one of the most sought-after Beaujolais estates, today run with his daughter Mélanie from the hamlet of Corcelette in Morgon. The 'Cailloux' cuvée — from the French for 'pebbles' — comes from an old-vine parcel of Corcelette on stony soils, showcasing the depth and personality that Bouland's centenarian and near-centenarian vines can offer.
100% Gamay from old vines on rocky Corcelette soils. Expect a refined, classically built Morgon with aromas of black cherry, cassis, woodsmoke, a touch of currant leaf and violet. The palate is structured and long, with firm yet silky tannins, saline minerality, and the depth and persistence that mark Bouland's most serious bottlings — a wine built for medium to long-term cellaring.
Hand-harvested from old gobelet-trained vines and vinified in whole bunches with maceration lasting around two weeks. Aged in oak foudres with minimal intervention, then bottled with only small dosages of SO2.
