Domaine Daniel Bouland — today run with his daughter Mélanie — is a cult 7-hectare family estate based in the hamlet of Corcelette, in the heart of Morgon. Bouland is renowned for producing dense, complex, age-worthy Beaujolais from meticulously hand-tended old vines in Morgon, Chiroubles and the Côte de Brouilly, many of them centenarians.
100% Gamay from the Corcelette lieu-dit in Morgon, on clay-limestone soils. Expect an intense ruby-hued Morgon with aromas of black cherry, rose and peony, with a subtle smoky thread. The palate is mature yet fresh, with a firm texture and beautifully integrated tannins — the kind of Gamay that ages toward a silky, Burgundian character over time.
Hand-harvested. Traditional whole-bunch fermentation is followed by ageing in large oak foudres, preserving the purity and mineral drive of the site.
