Cobaw Ridge's L'Altra is a playful, lighter-framed field blend from the certified organic and biodynamic estate in the Macedon Ranges. It's built on Syrah made as a rosé (around 90%), with pressings of Pinot Noir (around 8%) and a dash of Lagrein, sitting somewhere between a deep rosé and a very light red.
Expect a pale garnet hue and aromas of red roses, red cherry, cranberry, pomegranate, warm earth and ginger spice. The palate is juicy, tangy and bright, with silky-light tannins, lively acidity and a gentle herbal lift - very drinkable, especially with a slight chill.
Made with minimal intervention, fermented with natural yeasts, aged in neutral vessels, and bottled with only a small sulphur addition. Typically around 12.5% ABV.
