L'Altra, Italian for "the other", is the second label from Cobaw Ridge, the family-run Macedon Ranges vineyard established by Alan and Nelly Cooper in 1985. The estate is certified organic and biodynamic, and its granite-based site near Kyneton is one of the coolest places in Australia to grow grapes.
The L'Altra Chardonnay is pressed from estate Chardonnay and shaped by time in barrel and a touch of oxidative handling, giving it a more textural, generous profile than the estate Chardonnay. Bright citrus and orchard fruit meet nutty, savoury complexity, finishing fresh and lingering.
Try it with roast chicken, pork belly, creamy pasta or a cheese board.
Vintages may vary. Email us at hello@barrelandbatch.com.au if you would like confirmation.
