Miarlons du Bas is perched between the lieux-dits of Les Monts de Fussey and Mainbey. The vines are as old as those in Mainbey―40 years―and are the Estate’s only old Aligoté vines on a steep slope. While lower in altitude than Mainbey or Bas des Ees, the grapes retain low sugar levels even at the peak of physiological ripeness. Permanent cover crops live between the rows, and mechanisation is kept to the bare minimum to avoid soil compaction. Domaine.
“Immediately in the presence of nobility. The flesh is perfectly balanced throughout with a discreet reduction becoming evident. A happy marriage of apple and citrus, with a very long tingling finish.”
