This wine is produced from Tomoko and Guillaume’s Chagniots parcel, situated between Ladoix and Corgoloin. The Aligoté Doré vines here are over 100 years old (although a quarter of the vineyard had to be replanted). This deep clay plot is a mere 0.17 hectares. The site is farmed organically, and the soils are horse-ploughed by Gilbert Simond—a master of the art who counts domaines such as de Montille and Comte Lafon among his customers. A mix of 13 perennial and annual cover crops are planted, increasing biodiversity and soil health.
“110 yr old aligoté doré from the commune of Ladoix. Fuller, tougher, tenser, more bitters, a huge concentration of fruit, this wine is nowhere near ready. It may become a star in its own right, but for now has to play second fiddle to the amazing finesse of Miarlons.
